You would exchange teaching for something else. I teach you to fish, and you teach me to start a fire. I don't think this is much different than prostitution back in the day.Shirib, but we are talking a profession, an exchange of services. Not teaching for the sake of living.

Skills such as fishing, starting a fire etc were a communal practice and would be acquired during the nurture process. Hypothetically speaking, if a fishing community encountered a farming community, yes, they would exchange skills However, within their own respective communities they would already have been exchanging goods and services for sex.You would exchange teaching for something else. Btw prositution didn't get that big till the advent of a system of money.

Most people referred to that trade and service for sex, marriage or some sort of. Prostitution where a woman would go to different men, exchanging goods for sex didn't become really come into play until the advent of a money system.Skills such as fishing, starting a fire etc were a communal practice and would be acquired during the nurture process. In the west, yes, however in somalia banning alcohol works just fine.no one will ever get rich from it and only asmall percentage use it. Prostitution isnt that common.amisom are changing culture though.Banning khamri, a bootlegger's dream!

Sure it did, I wouldn't be opposed to saying that. But I would highly doubt, it came as a service and profession, before other trades. Again women were prized possessions, you would be hard pressed to find one. Prostitution was really much more enabled with the advent of money.Shirib
It was not impossible to find a woman that would sleep with different men for whatever needs she had. You can argue it might not have been the norm but you cannot argue with the utmost conviction that prostitution did not occur in these societies.
