If you opt for Thailand, only transit in Bangkok and make your way to a resort. It's grotty, smells like indhayar food...filthy in general.

Hehe I haven't been to Thailand yet ..but I heard massage parlours have signs that read NO SEX because parlours that offer "happy endings" are so prevalent.
But to answer your questions I am a big planner ..I book tickets in advance to cut down on cost, and hash out an itinerary even though 9 times out of 10 things don't go according to plan ..sometimes things turn out better than I could've imagined.
