Aamiin. Perhaps they do really want to help their community. That is admirable.

theyre good considering they were either born there or came as a child. just need a holiday to the homeland, by a month they'll be fluent.
My isaaq kneegrow of forty plus has never set foot in somalia.he speaks fluent somali yet his friend who was born in the same place (east africa) speaks little somali.somali comes from the parents.
Anyway, good luck to these xalimos.

Anigaa ordaayo... qeybta kalena .. baa ordeeyso (direct translation of run)

You won't find many girls who speak better Somali given similar circumstances tbh but they grasp the main scope of speaking which is good enough. Hadii la fahmaayo Oo eryaha badankoda ayna qaldeeyn dee intaas aa ku filan.

In English run has many different uses (and one of them is the one in this example) but the better one for a Somali equivalent is 'campaign' which in Somali becomes 'u ololayn', I guess.

isku so sharaxay...has an approximate sense
u tartamayaa...i.e. running for or more broadly competing for (a position, a job etc...)

As for these 2 young ladies, I commend them both. I wish I lived in their wards and I'd happily/proudly vote for them

Not to disparage the community or anything, but isn't Scandinavia a beacon for 'fugees. It used to be Denmark and Sweden, and, now that they've gotten tougher, it's Norway. I know Somali refugees are everywhere, but I have noticed the majority of academics and professionals chose to immigrate to UK, Canada and US. Academics and professionals, I believe, would prefer their children to speak better English than Somali and refugees would prefer better Somali than whatever the host nation speaks.

Anyways, I talk like those girls :meles:

USA born and bred :stylin:
