Tunisian Elections.

Postby Machiavelli2 » Tue Oct 28, 2014 1:38 am

The Tunisians who started the revolutionary movement, The Arab Spring, seem to have rejected the Islamist Party on the elections yesterday and opted to vote for the Secular Party Nida Tounes. Though the secularists have no majority of their own, they are canvassing other parties to join them and the leader of the Islamist party, the Ennahda told Aljazeera they are willing to work with the Secular Party and join a coalition government for the sake of Tunisia. This is a new development which indicates the Tunisian transition to democracy has succeeded where others failed because polar ideological parties are willing to compromise for the sake of the stability of their country. What is your take?

Tunisia's Ennahda 'faces defeat' in elections

Secular Nidaa Tounes seen emerging as biggest party in 217-seat parliament, pushing Islamists to second place.

This is what I was hoping for Somalia, but they are too dumb and focused on clan, well good luck to Tunisia. While the rest of Arabian peninsula scratch their ass.

Tunisians in general are much more pragmatic than any of these Arab countries.
