Ibn Abbas (radiyallahu 3anhu) reported that the Prophet said, "He who dies addicted to khamr will meet Allah (on the Day of Judgement) as an idol worshipper." Recorded by at-Tabarani in al-Kabir and Abu Nu'aym in al-Hulyah. Verified to be authentic by al-Albani (as-Sahihah no. 677).

Sudden death is that which strikes a person suddenly, giving him no chance to repent, do good, or even say the Shahadah. Thus it is a sign of Allah's wrath. Ubayd Ullah bin Khalid (radiyallahu 3ahu) reported that Allah's Messenger :saw: said, "A sudden death is a wrathful take."
