100 pushup challenge

Post by Leftist »

100 pushup challenge.

Who's down? 100 good-form pushup performed consecutively. And it's gotta be done by year's end.

I did my my initial test to see where I'm at. I did 12 good-form pushups. Not a good look, but still, better than 80% or so of males between ages 18 to 34 who can't even do 10 good-form pushups.

Following the example of Grand Admiral Menace, SomaliNet's first video-blogger, I will, Ebbe'idinkeesa, post a vid of me performing the 100 pushup challenge by Dec 31st.

For science yacni.

If you cant yet do a single push up i'd advise to start with girly pushups. i put on a hell of a lot of weight and so i couldnt do a single full push up at the start of the year; since the start of 2014 i started from scratch and half way through the year i managed to do more than 10 full ones without too much trouble. I would warn though bad form can cause shoulder injury and that can be debilitating, i have a shoulder problem that hasnt gone away for months now. Cant box, weight train or push ups, nothing.

100 :whew:

If your bmi is relatively normal, within the space of two months or so after lifting a bit, you WILL reach 30 push ups

Push ups, chin ups and pull ups are good indicators of physical fitness so it really gives you a boost when you accomplish more and more of them.

You are awesome! I've been mulling over how to find time for the gym during the impossibly inadequate 'womens hours'....

200 Squats and 200 Sit ups too? Don't mind if I do. Thanks Leftist ^__^

Update: Wherein we learn the moral of the maah-maah: geedkii orod-orod lagu koro, orod-orod aas laga soo dagaa........nooh( a maah-maah is not complete without the addition of a nooh)

So I got up to 30 perfect-form consecutive pushups. Then I was all, abkay dooli dilay, pushup been-been maas oo dahaa.....and I flipped the script and started wildin' out with the bench-pressin and the dead-liftin' and the squat-squatin;....qatar aa isku maleeyay.......end result: relatively minor shoulder injury, which should heal up in a coupla.....weeks. meaning no exercise allowed...meaning i failed the push-up challenge....no bueno. Had I, tartiibtayda, followed the program outline, I'd be well on my way to a 100 consecutive pushups.

Lesson learned: caadi iska dhig, accept my limitations. These Somali bones/frame are not meant to compete with rag Big Mac iyo bacon lagu soo koriyay.

This was me in the gym doe: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jml-KtyzeY4
