Who do you think is the most internationally well-known East-African? (Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya)

Somalia, because it's right on the east and you heard about piracy and Al shabaab and the failed state, etc etc and more immigrants in the west

I would say Kenya &Tanzania {even though it's not in your list} without question. These countries are more well known & popular with people around the world and throughout history when people mentioned East Africa it's in relation to Kenya, Tanzania etc and events that happened there. They're popular for the Safaris, the Swahili coasts, history, vibrant cities, cultures, food ,tribal people Massai, Samburu, ethnic minorities, ..the Arabs, Indians etc. People have a more well rounded knowledge about these two countries.

Yes the other countries are in East Africa but usually get a pesky mention {especially in the last few years} as such by non entities in gangster rap videos ...hardly something to be proud of.
