If you are going to move back for good, then you'd need a source of income. Or at least have access to money. I know people who retired in America and get Social Security and that money is forwarded to them in Somalia.

Another thing is, if you have a business, than you'd be able to support yourself when you move back home.

How much do they get in social security per month ?

and Yes I agree money and income is the greatest obstacle since there is no real jobs in Somalia at the moment

Well this person came to the US when they were 55yrs old and then worked security and other small jobs until 65. He paid into Social Security and built credits to be able to retire.

He gets about $1200 a month with the cost of living adjustment given to him every yr.

He lives very comfortably on that income since it's just him and the rest of his family lives in North America.

Hes building a second home there now, with the plot of land already purchased.

For that he can live like a king , the rent of a large villa in Somalia is around 200 dollars per month

$200 a month? Not even close. That might've been 10yrs ago, but not now.

I haven't finished my studies yet. Money wouldn't be a problem if Somalia wasn't so expensive. But I intend to go back permanently within the next 5-10 years, inshallah.

Peace is the main obstacle preventing me basing myself in Mog.
Luckily we have enough plots of land to build on.

The rest of the country, with the exception of Kismayo, is relatively safe.
I'd say in about five years time, insha'llah. :D :som:
