yeah its pants. to be honest hargaisa Is mod3rn city I really feel comfortable here somehow. ppl yeah if u ever comes somalia I recommend u to visit it. its amazing and scarf is not that bad at all.

If your going to Hargeisa, you don't have to cover up. But at the same time you don't expose yourself too much. People would get the wrong expression.
But if your going to any other place in somalia. You have to cover up, people would tease you, and you will get a lot of criticism.

Also don't let people know you got money, because if they find out you do, then they would not leave you alone.
And last but not least don't ever drink their tap water, it not 100% safe.

what is considered acceptable and what is deemed unacceptable in both somalia and hargeisa?
the whole no pants thing baffled me the most lol.

zaki, how is water avalibility in hargeysa in the residantal area?

i was in hotel mansour, so i dont know if the whole city has water or some times goes off.

in diredaba always water cuts and comes after 11 pm. people awake until that time to store water!! even in hotels, is hard to get good shower. water are soo little ta'aban to shower.lol

also is every one have to be wearing hijab by law or just tradition/cultural? i was just passing by my wat to jigjiga. i stayed like a day and half.

weed and other drugs are illegal in s/land and if you're caught smoking/doing drugs, you will go to jail for 2yrs. you can use drugs, smoke weed in p/land and mogadishu, nobody will bother you. since you're female, you can find male hoes in p/land & mogadishu to keep you "busy". 8-)

jamal I seen alot of ladies drinking smoking weeed in here as I was chewing with them they asked me if I need drink and weeed lol and I run away immediately as they started I never seen that in punters. only landers and southerns

Somalis are conservative. This is the case of kilinka shanaad, Somali land, Puntland, Mogadishu, NFD. Ironically it is enforced the most in large cities like Mogadishu and Hargeisa
