Once I was translating for a somali youth.the organisation asked the young man to explain what he had just admitted to doing in somali.the young man turned around and asked If I could explain instead as he couldnt explain it in somali to his mother.the lady was shocked and asked "what do you mean you cant speak your mother's language and she cant speak english?cadaans will respect you more if you speak your mother tongue than you waving a flag.the asians are more integrated than the somalis, however their children are taught to write and read in hindi, punjabi, gujurati.learm your language, ya fatboy.

I watched this video couple of days ago. She's a grown ass woman she should speak her mother tongue fluently. My little niece who was born in Canada and is in elementary school speaks better than her tbh. She should be ashamed of herself she isn't a little kid. I would like to say something. I think the real issue is not what Somali Canadians do but that many people here desire to live in Canada. I think they look for flaws with Canada so they can feel better that they don’t live here.

You can complain about our cold weather , crime or say that Somali Canadians need speak to better Somali whatever. But really the problem is your envy

The best place to learn Somali is in Somalia not Canada or Europe. She just needs a few months in Somalia and she will pick it up. My cousin never went to Somalia before, and never lived in Somali neighborhoods, but she moved to Somalia last year and now she is fluent in Somali. Learning languages is not that hard. We all speak several languages and we learned them from living in those countries. So give that girl a few months in Somalia and then give her another interview. I'm sure that she will do great.
