Well since we're on the topic of marriage lately. And I'm at that point In my life where I'm contemplating settling down and having a wife and im financially able to do so. Although I haven't found my significant other yet.

Having seen friends and families relationships sour in the west I've got mixed feelings . I've been living here in the motherland for a couple years now and have a business and also a villa. But my command of the mother language is still rudimentary at best. Parents are actively seeking a wife for me. I've turned down a couple offers but eventually I'll be persuaded.

There's some beautiful girls here but effective communication is also important. Would you do it and either one of you learn the others language or do you prefer marrying a westerner whom you have more in common.

This makes so much sense now. Now, I can guarantee you are a Qaniss! Your many nicks in somalinet explains everything now! Mashalaaah! :stylin:

I think that the main motive behind men wanting to marry from back home is the miskiin factor - where (as you said) she's completely dependent on him and therefore he has total dominance - and any man who will marry with that in mind is no man at all.

This is Marriage 101:
I suggest you watch one of the Somali Scholars, i.e. Sh. Mustafe Ismaaciil and Sh. Shiibili. They have muxaadarooyin about marriage. And if you dont know that much Somali look for Sh. Said Raage.

Sida la rabo in loola dhaqmo dumarka inaad fahantaa iyo shaqada qof walba uu leeyahay waa waxa dhisa oo dhowra guryaha.
Aniga shakhsiyan ma jecli sheekada reer Galbeedka iyo tan Carabta toona.Xitaa ma rabo tan Soomaalida (Though TBH, it is better than the two). I have my own recipe.

I don't know where you've been getting your statistics. - Wrong. Even if you include emotional cheating that's still heavily biased and skewed. It's likely the faraxs that are the biggest culprits.

Hey guys I'm gonna impart some wisdom with you guys that a wise somali man once told me and my friends, he pleaded with us to NEVER marry a somalian woman, he had been married to them 3 times and he made a vow never again, he said a somalian woman is lazy, greedy and generally a nusciance which will cause headaches, he ended the speech telling us that life is too short to be locked in misery. In his words "somalian woman waa qashin"

Not to forget ungrateful, loud and disrespectful. tbh only once I got attracted into a fine wild loud mouth xalimo, Imagining how I'm gonna jump on her and make this proud ass crying on the top of my mountain. :shaq: But in 99% of the times they are qashiin.
