Note:: This story is not a negative reflection on dumarka iyo haweenka soomaliyeed, it's just a single data point; a young and dumb person who has made a series of wrong decisions that led her to where she is now: on Reddit's TIFU front page.

I'm bit a hesitant to post this given the amount of mindless trolls and the generalizing and the xaliimo-hate, but I'm also sick and tired of the "we are superior to them" and the "fiiri wasaqda gaalada", "acuudibillaha, naagaha qaawaan, acuudibillah khamrada" that I keep hearing from "shaykhs" and their "students" who wouldn't hesitate to exploit the poverty of poor dumar through polygamy and zawaj misyar. When they do it, they are faasiqeen; when we do it, it is "the will of Allah"(they have lied on Him, tabaaraka wa tacaaala)

So yeah: Our(Muslim, Somali) shit stinks just as much as anybody else. We're not special. We're not "better" than anybody. We're not "more moral". Nor do we have "higher akhlaaq" than anybody. We're just human beings trapped on this Earth, living our lives.............just like the rest of the 6 billion+ humans on earth.

Tinder is a more of a hook up app then anything else. I've tried it and they wanted an access to my FACEBOOK and I just deleted it.

Since it's location based, I have yet to encounter a Somali person that app.

Point being, there is a growing number of young Somalis who come from broken families, who have suffered abuse at home and confusion in the outside world. Very easy for a person like to slip and fall, regardless of culture or religion.

We're only human, sxb. Every vice and every faaxisha being done by other human beings is also being done by Somalis(male and female), in many cases, by equal measures and above. Who surpasses us in rape, for example?
