Why would you elect drunkards as councillors in the first place? And then arm them and let them loose into the society? Dowlada soomaliland naftirkeeda tiirka hala saaro

He was a municipal counselor.

You should worry about the drunkard in Somalia's parliament.

Somaliland is none of your business sxb.

Yh they were cousins in qabiil sense jilib hoose and isku ciyaal xaafad. The dude who got away was Cabdalle Isxaaq, isaga iyo ka wax dilay ayaa isku sakhraamay.

His intentions were not to kill. People in Hargeisa in particular "Madax" have pistols in their cars and they use the guns to threaten people. 9 times out of 10 they don't know how to use them but they're quick to wave it infront you. Isagoo is leh u hanjab oo yara waabi ayey bahashu qaraxday. Mabuu isticmaalin the chamber lock. The bullet hit the temple, dhulka ula may dhicin.
Wtf

So u saying cabdella isaxaaq guy killed another cabdella isaxaaq guy and he was drunk?
Never heard of this story

The guy who killed he was in politics?

I dunno why but i think i am involved in this

Would capital punishment only apply for 1st degree murder?

What about accidents?

Who are the judges and jury? Bunch of Odeys sitting under trees on an caw with shaah and qat? I can't imagine that this so-called judicial system will prevent innocent men, or men not guilty of intentionally killing another, to be fairly tried.

Somaliland is even lenient on foreigners. They once arrested this German man who came to Hargeisa with the sole intention of recording pornographic material there. He was intending on recruiting young, vulnerable 18 year old Somalilander females and record them in a porno and then sell it to the wider world. He was caught, and put in prison. All he did was pay a small fine and then he returned to Germany.

If the Somaliland Judicial System had ANY integrity, they would have executed that man right away. No one should be allowed to get away with that bullshit behavior. I don't care what nationality he is.

I wouldn't say even that is worthy of taking his life, but life in prison. I feel that is scarier anyways.

The problem with life sentences in Somalia/Somaliland is that people do not have faith that the criminal will actually stay there for his sentence. A death sentence is final, whereas otherwise we will wonder who will he have to pay and how much.
