I must stress though that not all are nag nag. I did happen to see some hunter gatherer /ragged type of faraxs with tooray strapped to their waist.

That's exactly what I was thinking tooThe thing that struck me about this topic is that he claims that Somali men back home are feminine, I mean I would have indulged the idea of Somali men in the west being feminine, but Faraaxs back home being feminine![]()
Let's entertain your claims for a sec Ximan, let's say Somali men back home are feminine, how do you explain our harsh nomadic culture? our prideful ways? faraxs taking entire tribes to war over bruised egos? the harsh environment back home don't leave much room for jiljileec.
You don't have to look far to realize that our entire existence as people revolves around being the best and bravest, just look at the gabays, buraanburs, dhaantos etc markas ninka la amaanayo waxa lagu billawa "Geesi hebel, Geesi ba ku dhaley, reer geesi ah baad ka so jeeda " etc

Are you saying there is no segment of the Somali male population that displays feminine disposition? Those Geeljire's that you mentioned are becoming part of fading past as Somalia increasingly becomes more urbanised. No more harsh environment to contend with. No one is saying manly Somali don't exist. The thing that struck me about this topic is that he claims that Somali men back home are feminine, I mean I would have indulged the idea of Somali men in the west being feminine, but Faraaxs back home being feminine![]()

Naa dadkani.waa imtixaan.from today on I will only.respond to threads with war dadkani waa imtixaan.Anything that starts with; why are Somali men/women ........? Always reeks of self-hate.
I never identify my cultural ways with others, I never think mine is bad, unless it has psychological and physical effects that are detrimental.
Baastounit, ex-gaajounit zamankan waxaad jeclatay 'war dadkan wa imtixan'

Going to war with the British, Ethiopians, Italians and even sending pirates to hijack ships in the Indian Ocean is pretty f-king masculine to meNo effeminate men could accomplish such a daunting task.
I don't think the OP knows what being effeminate really is. He thinks Somali men dancing awkwardly and being skinny (as a result of malnutrition) is being effeminate. Believe me, I know plenty of Somali guys here in Canada and we are FAR from effeminate (even though we are technically Somali and we have the same genetics as our brethren back home).
