in wich side...

Postby sahal80 » Thu Feb 26, 2015 7:12 am

In the muslim world women r very respected but r living in a patriarchal society so some may suffer from "oppression" though our deen is against this

I don't see somali women being oppressed, there's only too much polygamy

In the west, women r so objectified, sexually exploited, degraded and portrayed as bitchs, whores, slags, sluts etc

Women's liberalization is no more than having rights/gender equality, and personal freedom

So in wich side women is better?

Personally I will go for muslim women.

MashaAllah Sahal firstly I love how eloquent you are

Secondly yes, I agree Somali women have it pretty good. Though kuwa miyiga I don't know what their life is like but dumarka hal mar haddi ey shaqeystaan then nimanka wey ka xurowayan. Something MSB did well using socialism was getting women into the workforce. Somali women are not oppressed. If anything they oppress themselves by having some very narrow views on what women can and can't do. It never comes from men, always the judgemental fellow females.

In islam women get half the family inheritance, that is unfair you can't tell me it isn't.
In Islam a woman doesn't pay towards any household expenses

She is also entitled to have domestic help if she can't manage

She also gets remunerated for the strain of breastfeeding

- If I have no financial responsibilities (literally a kept woman who keeps any money I earn to myself) and my brothers have to take care of wives, children and our parents without any help then I would be more than okay with them getting double what I would. But since females still work, contribute towards the household and take care of their parents financially....

Unfortunately people pick and choose which parts of Islam they want to adapt
