no exclusive to waqooyi but like I said...I never heard of southerners use the term.
I guess ur not around Southerners. Sokeeye is pretty much over-used in Southern media, since it was the South that suffered from prolonged civil war. Just type in Sokeeye in google and look at the amount of Southern media websites pop out.

Sokeeye can be interpreted as both time or distance (length) on this case it means length those who are close to you.

And the closest to you are your own country men.

True, Sokeeye can also be used for distance. For example guriga masjidka ayu ka sokeeya.
