These anti-Arab Somalis are some of the most hysterical and hypocritical people you will ever meet. Their hatred of Arabs is so deep that it permeates their entire worldview.

If a Somali is seen wearing a khamiis to a Somali event, they get all upset and talk about how "Somalis are being colonized by Arab culture"....but yet these same hypocrites wear a suit and tie (which is European culture). They don't see the irony here. If they truly were consistent than they'd wear the Somali macawiis and scarf to a Somali wedding or cultural event.

If a Somali is seen listening to Arabic music....these same Somalis get all hysterical and start getting angry of "Somalis imitating Arabs" yet these hypocrites listen to American rap music and R&B music....which again has nothing to do with Somali culture.

It isn't so much about "preserving Somalinimo" that they care about. Most of these lowlives don't give a shit about Somali culture. They just use "Somalinimo" as an excuse to make a point. Most of these xayawaans never donated one dollar to help their starving brethren back home. It's just a charade and I can see right through their bullshit.
I see what you're saying here bro, but I think you drawing up a couple of false equivalencies. The suit and tie have become so ubiquitous all around the world that it can no longer be deemed European culture. It's now global culture, with European roots. As for the khamiis, it is worn only in the middle east/north africa and is considered out of places in regions outside of these. Also, it has no Islamic significance, as you will find Christian and athiest Arabs dressed in this traditional garb. Lastly, the khamiis, in the west, does not serve the functional purpose the suit and tie does. The suit and tie is recognized as formal dress for men, and it garners a certain level of respect from others. Not so with the khamiis, in fact you you are looked at as a weirdo or worse a terrorist. So it's crazy that impressionable and lost Somalis in the west will go out of their way to wear a garb that is culturally Arab, has no relgious significance and that will just bring unwanted and hostile attention to them. You'll rarely see an Arab dressed like this...nowadays Somalis are more Arab than Arabs lol.

As for Arab music, most of the same points above apply. Somali youth in the west are native English speakers, so American rap music and R&B, for better or worse, is their culture. It's all they know. It's not the same as those 'akhis' and 'ukhtis', who don't understand a word of Arabic and have never been to the middle east, who wanna play Arab music at weddings because Somali and English music is haraam but Arab music isn't lol. And don't get me started with all of them naming themselves 'abu this' and 'umm that'. Don't they know that kunyas are just Arab culture, and that Christain and secular Arabs also go by 'abu so and so' and 'um so and so'?

There's no doubt that Somalis are becoming Arabized under the guise of religion, so don't assume that everyone who speaks out against this is a secular athiest. But you're right, many of the Somalis who have a diabolical hatred for Arabs tend to be secular and/or athiest. There's no reason to hate or love the Arabs. I frankly dont care about them. I just don't want my culture eroded by alien traditions from the deserts of Arabia.
Well said, bro.

Jug's post is my exact view on the subject

I'd also wager that most Arab-haters have never met an Arab in real life  the hatred is misplaced and has more to do with their own identity issues IMO.

I love known loads of Arabs, especially Palestinians and Lebanese.

Also, I completely forgot about the cringe worthy practice that religious Somalis have calling themselves Abu Salah and Umm Anisa. :scusthov: If that isn't being Arab wannabes I don't know what is.

We've succumb to Arab culture. My uncle wears khamiis & cimaamad and calls himself Abu Ayuub, and he has a Palestinian flag hanging from the rear view mirror, I kid you not. :scusthov:

BTW, Somali Muslim >> Arab Atheist . That's how much I can't stand them. But obviously you guys prefer cadaan Muslim over me but that's okay lol

That's true bro. I don't wear a khamiis but at the same time I'm not too upset if I see a Somali wearing one. I don't see it as any different from Somali women watching Indian Bollywood films, or Somalis listening to Marvin Gaye and Whitney Houston, or Somalis watching Anime or Korean dramas. I don't see it as a huge deal as long as the Somalis are self-aware of their culture and their own identity.

I'm actually quite neutral towards Arabs. I'm not obsessed over them nor do I hate them. Some of the best people I ever met were Arabs but I have more experience dealing with Pakistani Muslims who I have a very high opinion of. And these are my experiences in Canada.

But we need to stand against those with a frothing hatred and genocidal obsession towards Arabs, such as Based and those like him. And I'm totally against Somalis imitating Arabs excessively. Those who call themselves "Abu" this or "Ibn" are those who imitate Arabs excessively. But if a Somali wants to smoke shisha or eat falafel (Arab culture), then I wouldn't really care.

Yes that's true.

We prefer an cadaan Muslim over you. And that's how 98% of Somalis feel. Deal with it.

Waryaa the Khamiis is as much part of Somali culture as the Cimaamad and Bakoorad and Bariis and Baasto(Italy). And the suit is part of Somali culture aswell as we wore it for so long.

Wallahi I have no problem adopting parts of Arab, African or Asian culture into Somali cuz we are an international people.
