It is funny how a factual observation on somalis could turn into a religious thing or a tribal thing.

Cawar, I relate to every somali territory. I am not a slave of the tribe mentality.

Demure, (intelligent woman) this thread has nothing to do with tribalism. It is just a factual observation on the southerners.

Xoogsade, there are a dozen generals and colonels but because they are afriad to be denied the right of stay they have concealed that fact. I know two women who were colonels who live in OHIO- and I guess one of them is your aunt.

Intellex, poor thing, the zulus don't live in the cape town area!!!!!!!! They live in kwazulu natal in the east.

About the tribe mentality...dont accuse others of being qabilist unless you have evidence to support your claim, and I mean in general, not just me!

Cawart, I am in nairobi but I have been to several refugee camps on the border and in Mombasa.

I help somalis (most of them from the south to resettle). Chances are that I have helped many people on this board (including you to resettle).

You can't imagine how our people yearn to migrate!

Let me make it clear once and for all. I don't subscribe to any tribe. I don't blv in the shit , never blved in it.

Qudhac

You are wrong, when you say "you guys", I can speak only for me and not for the others, and you are wrong again because I praise S/land before Globe ever mentioned in the past, but I praised them of how and what they did for themselves and their land not for qabilsim, and you are wrong a third time, beacsue i never talked about being a Puntlander, I always said and maintained saying that I am Xamarawi. Capisci sxb??

Besides, re-read what i jsut said above about the lama goodle, mase ma aadna fahmin?? Lama goodle = Maryooleey Laughing

As for USC... war dakii oo idil baa soo carary, including the USC Laughing

Cawar, there are many refugee camps on the border and in Mombasa!!!

I really don't care whether someone comes from Mogadishu or Hargeisa- only that somaliland deserves to be praised. I have been to Hargeisa on several occassions and you'd be amazed to notice the changes that have taken place.

I have worked in Mogadishu for 3 months last year and the people of mogadishu are hostages to warlords and tribalism.

In fact all over the south primitive tribalism is a daily phenomenon. I have been to Puntland too and tribalism is ripe there too!

It is weird to see such a rich south driven by tribal hatred.

Back to the topic: Why is that southerners love ambigious titles????? I was at a graduation ceremony at AMOUD university and even the professors shy from being called DRs- while Mogadishu university (a very nice university by the way) every undergraduate is proud to be called Dr!

Globe

I had a job offer couple of months ago and it was dealing with refugees from diff. countries, but the base was in Nairobi, but I had no idea that there were somali refugees still in Mombasa, i mean in refugee camps, thats why i asked.

Again as i said...I dont think it has anything to do with self steem, if anything there may have been some influence from the Siad regime who were famous in self praise(just check how many titles he had and its like that with all dictators), and having Generals and Colonels and you8ng DRs or ENGs ... you couple that with the Italian influence and their love for the titles(I lived there and had a title and it felt good btw) and voila you have this obsession with titles.

I dont know about the north but the way you put it in the beginning was divisive to say the least!!!

Qudhac

That was a cracker man, you are right no one will sit and wait to get roasted thats a pure Humen nature i guess.
Back to the issue at hand in somaliland if you shower yourself with tiltles regardless of the deserveness you will be seen as a clown.
pple judges you on your ability to deliver the success of what you ment
be doing and not the title you are holding.
Also pple will rush to criticize you if you make something wrong and
WAAR WUXU DHAKHTAR WAA SHEEGANAYAA NABARKAA YARNA WAA DHAYI KARIWAAYAY.
CRITICS ARE SO HARSH IN THAT PART OF THE WORLD.
