Did you just say mogadisho is the size of puntland  bari is the biggest region in the whole of somalia. Mudug second. Loool hell hole mogadisho is nothing compared to peaceful and prospering puntland.
Mogadishu is the biggest city in Somalia with the biggest amount of economic activity and has 2 million people in it.

Ethiopia is off limit the Ethiopian intelligence is to strong there is no way the Alshabaab can carry out an Attack in Ethiopia they did it in Kenya and in Uganda the Ethiopian intelligence is the best in the region.

By the way i dont understand how come we dont know the clan of the Perpetrators yet?

lool khaalid, Ethiopian intelligence is least advanced in the world. even Somalia is million times ahead of them. kenya who is very well advanced country could not resist alshabaab what makes you think a punch of woyane can resist alshabaab bombings. alshabaab is very powerful force they are able to hit any where on earth. but they need financial base thats why they are pushing very hard to recapture both mogadishu and kismayo. the reason they attack kenya more often is to make them pull out of kismayo. they first want to damage kenyan tourism sector to make them retreat from somalia. Ethiopia will suffer the moment they settle in mogadishu or kismayo.
GTFOH

If they were so powerful why won't they attack anywhere outside of East Africa?

The only reason they are relevant is because the Somali government is useless and features ministers and MPs who throw money around all the time for elections, no confidence votes, and other useless chatter.

They don't invest in having an army or a viable security service.

EVERY MONTH...ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH, AL SHABAAB IS ATTACKING A HOTEL OR AREA WHERE GOVERNMENT PEOPLE STAY.

How incompetent can you be to not notice the patterns but not prepare??
The govt is broke and it has arms embargo on. So how can you build an effective army then ?
Sure the govt is not doing their job properly but don't blame it on them alone.
The IC has the biggest blame here.

Building an army implies the "government" is interested in something other than milking as much aid money as it can.

Most of these folks have a vested interest in chaos, from Ethiopia and the rest of AMISOM being paid millions to do nothing in Somalia, to the "businessmen" who steal and resell food aid, to the MPs who know they'll get a bribe bonus every time there's infighting, to the individuals who control the ports & airports, to the...

Government means regulation, taxation, rule of law, and accountability...it's not really profitable for the "elites".

Am not a fan of this gov, but on the whole they've done some work in regards to the security situation as evident by the isolated cases where alshabaab attacks. Alshabaab would relentlessly have carried out their attack like the old days if improvement wasn't made, so credit goes to where it needs, there is still more work to be done though.

True, dowlada ceebtooda waa mushaar la'aanta, but even if they pay soldiers regularly, it doesn't stop terrorist attacks. The only solution to stop al-shabaab is building a fully equipped SNA which they can't at the moment because of the arms embargo.
