We can only hope that the shiekh who presided over it faces serious criminal charges as well.A NSW father who married off his 12-year-old daughter has been found guilty of procuring her for sex.
The 63-year-old father, who can’t be named, held an Islamic ceremony at his NSW home in January last year in which his daughter and a then 26-year-old man were “married”.
They then went to a motel where they had sex, Judge Deborah Sweeney said as she handed down her judgment in the Sydney District today.
After the ceremony, the father had told the girl not to use contraception and to ensure the “husband” didn’t wear condoms. He also allowed her to go to the motel and move out with the man, and he hosted them at his home the weekend after the wedding. They had sex twice while at his home, on two single mattresses pushed together at the father’s direction, Judge Sweeney said. During an interview with police not long after the wedding, the father claimed he was stopping a sin by allowing the girl to get married.
“It was something I had to do,” Judge Sweeney said he said.

But I'm not holding my breath...it's more important to actively encourage these sort of people to keep their traditions and social customs no matter how far out of step they are with civilized f-king society.
