Why Are Somali Parents Selfish?

I didn't have easy going parents like my friends had. My mom was so strict with me growing up, she wouldn't even let me out lateish until 17, or hang out with friends, and would chew me out daily for the most minute things. She literally hated fun. But she had a hard life and she wanted what was best for me. Just try to to look at it from their side, and chill out.

I learned to read/write Somali in the last few years, it's still a bit of a challenge, but waan isku didaalaya. I would be horrified if I couldn't pass on our language to my babies.

And you're right, but believe me. ALOT of qurbo kids can't understand Somali. I personally knew some who couldn't even understand basics. Sucks!

I wouldn't blame the mothers, and I certainly don't blame mine for my inabilities. When you don't live around Somalis, your entire social experience from childhood through university is in English (or Swedish lol).
