Al-Shabaab militants kill 10 in attack at Ministry of Education in Mogadishu
At least 10 people were killed on Tuesday when militants from the al-Qaida-linked al-Shabaab detonated two bombs outside the education ministry in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, and gunmen fought their way into the building. Seven attackers were also killed, the Somali government said.

Security forces rushed to the scene and ambulances ferried wounded victims to hospitals. Somalia’s minister for internal security, Abdirizak Omar, said special forces had secured the building and casualties were “minimal”, though witnesses reported seeing dead bodies.

A government spokesman said eight civilians and two soldiers had died, as well as seven militants.
:wow: MoE too? At least they were killed.

With these AMISOM troops getting fat, why aren't they going on the offensive?

AUN to the innocents killed. :(

Al-Shabaab is supported by every country or group who is against the return of peace and stability to Somalia. No question Ethiopians are behind them but of course others as well.

AUN

This is ridiculous

But to keep it in context, the troubles in the UK lasted for 3 decades and in N.Ireland itself 4, so eventually things always get better. InshaAllah it won't take us that long, soon, inshaAllah

You're right. I haven't given up hope...it's just sad to know that as soon as there is mild peace (no bombing or killing for a goddamned week) then something happens again.

Why attack the Ministry of Education though? It really makes no sense!!

Their premise is to protest the presence of international organizations and AMISOM? How do they expect this to happen if they are constantly destabilizing? Keeping their so-called people uneducated, unsafe and in a state like that?
