The Lunar Month of Rajab is Upon Us!!

Postby ZubeirAwal » Tue Apr 14, 2015 4:35 pm

My favourite lecture on this:

This is the month where the Prophet (pbuh) raised his hands after losing his beloved wife whom he was with for 25 years, as well as being stoned by children at a town, and in it Allah transformed his enviroment people from Medina embraced him, it was truly a remarkable moment. We all have this event but at a micro-scale within us, this month is the perfect month for repentence and turning back to Allah with a sincere heart, as Ramadan draws nigh, this is highly reccomendable!

‏The Prophet , when he entered the month of Rajab would say, "O Allah bless us in our Rajab and Sha`ban and cause us to reach Ramadan!" And on the night of Jum`ah he used to say, "This is the night of beauty and day of brightness."

Related by Ibn Asakir, al-Bazaar and at-Tabarani in al-Awsat, and by al-Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-Iman from Anas

‏The fast of the first day of Rajab is repentance for three years and the [fasting] second day is repentance for two years and the [fast of] third day is repentance for a year and then each [remaining] day is [repentance for] a month.

Abu Muhammad al-Khalal in Virtues of Rajab, from Ibn `Abbās.

From Ibn `Umar that the Prophet said:

Whoever fasts the first day of Rajab it will be equivalent to the fast of one year; and whoever fasts seven days in it, the seven gates of Hell will be closed for him; and whoever fasts ten days from Rajab, a caller will call out from the sky, “Ask and you will be given!”

Related by Abu Naim Al Asbahaany, and Ibn Asaakir

The lunar month of Rajab begins on the 20th of April, Rajab is a tree that has yielded many fruits, but only the reflective believers take from it. :stylin:
