the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I'm an afrocentric because I live in America and am surrounded by white, mexican, and asian racists. if they treat me like a black person, look at me like a black person, why would I not view my interests as the same as other black people?I know of thousands of Somalis who say the exact same thing.why not say this on twitter rather than hiding behind the anonymity of a forum?I don't know why stupid xalimos on twitter claim to be black. I ain't no Bantu just because we share skin colour doesn't mean we belong to the same race. Smh
I can't stand these Afrocentrists who try to make up their own history and create some fictional narrative that Africa was some big, happy, united continent where everyone held hands and sang "kumbaya" until the White man came in with his weapons and "divided us" into separate classifications.
It's bullshit. I'm a Somali and I have nothing in common with some guy from Burkina Faso or Gabon. We were never united.
your thread had been high jacked long before i came
Yo two, stop hijacking my thread take your stupid beef some where els

This! i agree with you man, i lived with afar and they are just like us, as for other africans, like you said we are just from the same continent, call me arab booty-clapper but i think we are close to arabs then jareers, at least we share same deen with them, but we arnt arabs nor jareers.
this is how i know you carab bootyclappers don't care one shit about religion. you just like distancing yourself away from blackness as much as possible. So then you should specify that you're an American and that your opinions only apply in America and nowhere else.the enemy of my enemy is my friend. maybe in Burkina Faso and Gabon, the social dynamics of race are different. but here in America, I'm an afrocentric.

true. but 50% of the global somali population is estimated to be living in the diaspora outside of somalia. most in western countries or arab countries. locations where we face the same type of anti-black discrimination. so i think the afrocentric mindset is palpable there as well.So then you should specify that you're an American and that your opinions only apply in America and nowhere else.
The vast majority of Somalis DO NOT live in America and thus your "Afrocentric" bullshit will never be taken seriously by Somalis.
I don't identify myself according to what some White man thinks. I'm not a docile, identity-less, self-hating troll
You're moving the goalposts buddy. It is a known FACT that the vast majority of Jareers ARE NOT MUSLIM. Visit countries like Congo, Zambia, South Africa and Angola. The muslims are a minority. Even amongst Afro-Americans, a tiny minority of them are Muslims, and in fact many of them hold extreme anti-Muslim sentiments. This! i agree with you man, i lived with afar and they are just like us, as for other africans, like you said we are just from the same continent, call me arab booty-clapper but i think we are close to arabs then jareers, at least we share same deen with them, but we arnt arabs nor jareers.this is how i know you carab bootyclappers don't care one shit about religion. you just like distancing yourself away from blackness as much as possible.
there are 242 million muslims in sub-saharan africa. compared to 321 million muslims in the middle east (this is including Sudan). http://www.pewforum.org/interactives/mu ... n-graphic/
why would the carab muslims be closer to you than the jareer muslims? according to the numbers, there are just as many muslims in "black africa" as there are in the middle east if you take out Sudan.
Another lie. Because this diaspora includes the millions of Somalis living in the Ogaden region of Ethiopia, as well as the NFD region of Kenya. This land has been and will always be Somali territory, and the millions of Somalis living there aren't part of the diaspora at all. They're at home.true. but 50% of the global somali population is estimated to be living in the diaspora outside of somalia. most in western countries or arab countries. locations where we face the same type of anti-black discrimination. so i think the afrocentric mindset is palpable there as well.So then you should specify that you're an American and that your opinions only apply in America and nowhere else.

africa is a different situation. tribalism/ethnocentrism is the problems there.

kaafiye, said what i was going to say, i will add there are many arabi words in our language but you wont find kukuye words and our prophet csw was arab, my abtirsin goes all the to bin hashimYou're moving the goalposts buddy. Stop with your misrepresentations.

I can't wait either. But I bet even then some people would be confused and call themselves Black or Arab. We are our own race and people. The Somali race. May allah protect us.I for one am looking forward to the Somali plate splitting away.
Ameen Ya Rabbal'alameen

242 million is not a small number. even if the majority of the jareer are non-muslim, what about those 242 million? why would you feel a closer kinship to the ~300 million in non-black countries? You're moving the goalposts buddy. and there we have it. you shoulda just come out with this rather than creating the false narrative about islam. like I said earlier, all yall are just carab bootyclappers.kaafiye, said what i was going to say, i will add there are many arabi words in our language but you wont find kukuye words and our prophet csw was arab, my abtirsin goes all the to bin hashimi repeat arabs are closer to me than sangadhuudhs PERIOD
Authibilah. You just don't get it do you?242 million is not a small number. even if the majority of the jareer are non-muslim, what about those 242 million? why would you feel a closer kinship to the ~300 million in non-black countries?

like I said earlier. anyone who tries to use islam as a reason for validating a closer kinship to the carabs over their african neighbors is just a self-hating coon tryin to booty-clap for the carabs. either be an ignorant ethnocentric fool to EVERYONE or accept the jareer WHO HAPPEN TO BE MUSLIM as being as much your brother as the carab muslims.

Try focusing on the heart of the issue instead of at the periphery with people you share very little with. This is what happens as a result of the civil war and the resulting social confusion in the Somali communityChelsea is forever confused.
Am I the only one not holding hands with with every Jane and Joe. I am Somali point blank. This whole identity crisis nonsense of confused diaspora kids is getting annoying. You are not a victim. You don't have the same plight as them, in some ways you have it worse, in other ways better. You have not been psychologically nuked by slavery, and you haven't been made to be docile and second-class citizens in your own land because of colonialism. All these violations against Somalis are a new phenomenon and is a consequence of being stateless and not having a solid functional and competent government that cares for your welfare and is willing to step in. So why just join hands with anyone. You barely get along with your selves - Somalis.Try focusing on the heart of the issue instead of at the periphery with people you share very little with.
And can you blame the Afro-Americans, they call themselves India and China, whilst claiming them too. I suppose that's no different than these confused kids in Europe and the N. America saying their Arab, or this Pan African idle talk via twitter. Gosh, trying to undo the damage these diaspora Somalis do is a cumbersome task.
