Another lie. Because this diaspora includes the millions of Somalis living in the Ogaden region of Ethiopia, as well as the NFD region of Kenya. This land has been and will always be Somali territory, and the millions of Somalis living there aren't part of the diaspora at all. They're at home.

And there aren't many Somalis living in the US. There are probably more Somalis living in Yemen alone than Canada/USA combined. There are more Somalis living in countries like India or Malaysia than there are in many European countries.

The majority of Muslims in sub-saharan Africa live in either Nigeria, or the Horn of Africa. That's where they're concentrated. Yes there are exceptions and there are large Muslim communities in Senegal and Zanzibar, and it's true that the vast majority of Jareers in Africa are either Christian or Pagan. They're not Muslim.

That's all I was saying. And yes I do feel a closer kinship to those 242 million Muslims, I really do. But I have no friendship at all to some Christian from Angola or South Africa. They're not my people and we have nothing in common.

This is what happens as a result of the civil war and the resulting social confusion in the Somali community



On 1 hand you have Somalis claiming to be Arab and trying to live in an Arab country. On the other hand, you have Somalis who have this "pan-African" mindset that is naive and ultimately destructive. Afrocentrism and Arabism is destroying our people, and we need to do away with both concepts. We are Somalis, we are Muslims. That's it.

But that idea is a little too much for MaliPrince and others to comprehend.
