At first I thought the informant found out the young men's plan to go to Syria then just tipped the authority. But reading it again I see the man was on the clock. Spying and recording conversations. Conversations he probably instigated.

I am helpful person. So this guy came to me and told me that he just come from China. He needs help. I asked him how long you hear?
He told me two days. This guy I saw him 2 month ago in Friday prayer.
My answer to him. Allah ku caafiyo. I move forward and I never come back to that mosque till today. It was 9 month ago.

I know a Somali guy who cut off his white convert who was his best friend for years because the convert was recording him on his phone. The convert claims to this day that he was only testing out the phone recording app but the Somali Salafi guy ran and cut him loose that second. The Somali guy wasn't even saying anything terrorism related

The kid I was talking about that died in Syria was a tabliqi.
the last time I saw him his views were really extreme and over the top.
this is a kid we went on a tabliq together. Slept next to each other in the mosques. And attended the same tabliqi mosque for couple of years.

Couple of us tried to reason with him as we couldn't understand where he was getting all this ideas from but more surprised by the suden change.

You talk about Muslim loyalty?
Am loyal to my God given conscious first.

Families are the first to notify the authority this days if their loved ones start acting up.

with or with their blessing if he cannot be reason with then there are ways to go about it. Through community organisations that have connections and work with local authority. Muslims who are aware of this new trend.
