Degrees are overhyped. I am only impressed with people who achieve something in the real business world and not in the bubble of academia.

Maashallah, what an inspirational sister!! Hardships could be overcome if one has the support structures, is patient, realistic of his or her destination and committed to succeed. Most of the time, our failures stem from the high unbelievable expectations of our parents, relatives and the community place on young people. Not everyone is gifted to be academically inclined, and yet, every one of us have unrealistic expectations that all of us will become, engineers, doctors, lawyers and economists. It is succeed or bust. Many have failed because there is no middle ground in learning technical skills that will alleviate us from poverty and unemployment. Good on the sister on her tough journey.

Thanks Meth.

An inspiring story. But where is the father of the child in this story? Maybe, I need some new glasses but it seems that he was left out. Mise af ingiriiska ayaa labaajada iga aadey maanta? So she was married at 18 and that the rumours that she was pregnant out of wedlock were wrong; she then had a risky pregnancy that could impact her and the child. She was umul for a short time. Mise sidaasi ma aha?

I am a hooked on a feeling that she went against the social norm i.e. married a non-somali. Not that I have anything against that but it seems to be an underlying factor to her ciil.

Maryan Cabdi guuleeyso. You are not alone; many men and women face the same challenges and a few beat the odds.

Such a heartwarming story mashAllah.

@ Lama, I think this was her appreciation for her husband, if I'm not wrong.
it's always been me and you against the world. Thank you for being my rock and being the most patient man while providing. I know it's been hard and hopefully our hard work will pay off.
