There's a reason it's the most widely used script in the world; it's obviously the most practical and flexible script to use. Most countries with their own indigenous scripts seem to have a difficult time when it comes to computing, having to basically develop their own keyboards or come up with some elaborate a7a3 shit like Arabic.
Arabic would've been a truly awful choice, the pseudo-Ge'ez scripts even worse. The only reason I can read and write in Somali is because it's in a familiar script, and vice versa.
