I don't know why people feed into this propoganda. Did it start with the "Somali Abo" phrase?Waaqism is surfacing here under the guise of historical revisionism spread by oromos and uneducated Somalis.apparently the Oromos who did not venture out of their homeland till the 16th century are ancient brethren who were driven out of Somalia by arab jihadists and fanatical Somalis.lying is haram.
They're a neighboring ethnic group and we share genetic, cultural, and linguistic similarities but there's no evidence of an Oromo presence in North/Central Somalia. As far as Waaqism, there's a theory that before Islam reached the shores of the North, many of the inhabitants were Christians who practiced the same branch of Christianity as the Soqotrians. Perhaps that's why no 'indigenous' religion has survived in Somali inhabited lands. Waaqism is an Oromo religion through and through and some of them practice this religion to this day.

We losing even more people to atheism and they wind up coming back and biting us in the ass for our deen and dhaqan! Waqism will never prevail! We're fighting a losing battle. I give it a generation before Waaqism surfaces in the Somali diaspora.

actually multiple cities and sites are named after waaq in northern somalia! one example is a city in somaliland named AbudWaaq which means pray to waaq!I don't know why people feed into this propoganda.
