What definitely exist in Somali culture (along with many other eastern cultures) is we like to shame people. We're not as barbaric as south asians who honour kill their daughters or throw acid in their faces, but we do like to shame people. We shame people who commit zina, people who leave the religion, people whom we see as "gaalo rac"

I dont know if he is gaal or not and i could care less to be honest. A person is free to chose whatever religion or belief he wants to uphold. The same has to apply to radical athiests they try to take sniper attack at other peoples faith all the time and degrade them for their beliefs. So ironic when i hear them cry about tolerance and respect . When they are one of the least religiously tolerant people ive met.

i doubt somalis shame people. Every community & every group got their assholes, but that does not mean that culture encourages it or promotes it.

Such claim could be easily made about why crime exists., well because of culture.
