Something else I've experienced for the first time in Somalia

Postby EvolSyawla » Wed Jul 01, 2015 1:58 am

Or Somaliland, whatever floats your boat.

Sulphur burps.

:mindblown:

I decided to eat some sambusa the other night at this new late night cafe (Yes, I know, I couldn't help it...the aroma.... :lawd: ) and I woke up with 'daco qurun'.

I've never had that in my life, but when I googled it, it was common as heck  Have you ever had it? And back home or in the west?

You may have had milk after the sambusa. Normally, having milk after eating backhome used to cause 'daco qurun'.

Milk? Yikes, no thank youuuuu. I had cappuccino though? Hooyo said it might be the oil in the sambusa. It wasn't the worst I've had in terms of oil, but she said oil gives people annoying reactions after an empty stomach all day...

Unless it's 2% milk from those wonderful plastic bags in Canada. heehehee

InshaAllah when I go back, I will sit with a pack of lightly microwaved Chips ahoy cookies and this milk and just enjoy the hell out of that for a couple hours.

Dacar buluq,
In the linguo of somali traditional medicine, you have QARAS

Small intestinal overgrowth, infection in your gastrointestinal tract i.e. giardia bacteria could be possible cases. In this case (which is probably not your case, you need to visit a doctor). Since this is ramadaan it could be also due to change in your eating patterns or a reaction to a medicine you are taking.

In any case, it should be very embarrassing.

P.s. u could avoid proteins after 7PM.

^ Don't be disgusting xooloyahow.

There's nothing to by shy about this. It's gross, but it happens to men too, so stop acting like a wimp. I am sure your beloved ladies get worse after their raw meat dishes. ;) Bye.

Lama Adeer, it isn't that serious lol Just new to me. I was wondering if you guys have ever had it. It only lasts a few hours.

Evol, it depends on your age and if this is recurring. Granted, it is a temporary phenomenon in your case since it is ramadaan time.

But, I have seen patients that have the Giardia bacteria and growth in the small intestine. The question that is always asked whether the patient has experienced sulphur p.

LOL I had this exact experience regarding missing caano. When I was 12 went 6 whole months of no caano (hated caano geel). As soon as we landed back in Ottawa I scoured the airport for 2% lmao. Bought 3 2L jugs and dusted then off in 15 minutes :whew:
