Shia are very peaceful Muslims and we need to promote Somalia as part-Shia part-Salafi country while Somaliland should be fully Suufi state.

Before the Sultanate of Oman invaded Somalia, Kenyan coast and Tanzania----those regions were dominated by Shia.

We have Ahlul-Bait in Somalia but they have always been Sunni Muslims who are Sufi as well. The Somali Ahlul-Bait has no problem with Khalif Abuubakar Sadiiq (ra), Khalif Omar Binu Khaddab (ra), Khalif Osman Bin Afan (ra), and umm Aisha (ra). They are Ahlul-Bait because they agreed Hussein Ibn Ali (ra) over Yazid ibn Mu'awiya. However, the Shia Ahlul-Beit is quite different. They don't believe the Khilafa led by buubakar Sadiiq (ra), Omar Binu Khaddab (ra), Osman Bin Afan (ra), and some of the Shia, particularly, the Rafida group, curse all 3 khalifs and Umm Aisha (may Allah be pleased with all of them).

There were Shia in South Somalia but were very small, and used to be found among Somali Cadcads. They used to maintain a low profile, and practiced their faith quietly. I am not sure if this family in the video is from that group, or if, since Iran has an NGO in Mogadishu, these people embraced Shi'ism through missionary activity from this agency.

Nevertheless, I worry about the Evangelical Christianity that is spread in the refugee camps by Western NGOs much worse than Shi'ism. At least Shias are Muslims - even though the Ithna Ashari is a misguided sect who hate the Sunnah, unlike Evangelical Christianity, which is outside of Islam and great supporters of Zion.

P.S. Zaydi Shia who live in Yemen are regarded as part of the Sunni mainstream. They are very close to the Sunni Hanafi School of Thought.
