"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things."

salat makes person control their emotional.

خلق الإنسان هلوعا إذا مسه الشر جزوعا وإذا مسه الخير منوعا إلا المصلين

Truly man was created very impatient;- Fretful when evil touches him;And niggardly when good reaches him;-Not so those devoted to Prayer;-

shame this isn't used daily but i like this surah because it has such relevance in relation to the hatred amongst this forum

surah al hujurat (49) verse (13)

O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

[btw this website is really good for reading/listening to the Quran]

Hadiith about Destiny / qadar

Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhu) said: One day, I was behind the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) so he said to me: “O young man, I am going to teach you some words. Be mindful of Allah, and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him facing you. If you ask, then ask of Allah. If you seek aid, then seek aid in Allah. Know that if the entire Ummah were to gather in order to benefit you with something, they could not benefit you with anything except with that which Allah has written for you. And if the entire Ummah were to gather in order to harm you with something, they could not harm you with anything except with what Allah has written against you. The pen has been lifted and the pages have dried.”

Inspirational quotes from the Quran

"Verily, with hardship there is relief" (Qur'an 94:6)

"(O you who believe!) Be sure We shall test you with something of fear, and hunger, some loss in goods or lives, or the fruits (of your toil); but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere.Who when afflicted with calamity, say: "To Allah we belong and to Him is our return."
They are those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance" (155-157)

take advantage of these coming days .

•Abu Hurayrahnarrated that the Prophet said, “On no days is the worship of Allah desired more than in the (first) ten days of DhulHijjah. The fast of each of these days is equal to the fast of a whole year, and the worship of each of these nights is equal to the worship of Laylatul-Qadr.” (Tirmidh)

Narrated from Abu Qataadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the day of ‘Arafah and he said: “It expiates for the past and coming years.” Narrated by Muslim (1162). According to another report: “I ask Allaah that it may expiate for (the sins of) the year that comes before it and the year that comes after it.”
P.S Arrafah day is tomorrow September 11.

Eid mobarak everyone.
