It used to be. There was something called the Solomonic dynasty back in the Middle Ages, which claimed descent from the ancient King Solomon through his purported son Emperor Menelik I.

Even before that, there were other kingdoms in the area like the Aksumite empire. It had a multi-ethnic populace and stretched all the way to Awdal.

There was another kingdom around the same period that was centered at Adulis. It is often mistaken as having been part of the Aksumite kingdom, but it was actually a separate polity. The 4th century cleric Epiphanius of Constantia officially differentiated the Adulites from the Aksumites, as did the Periplus, which was published even earlier in the 1st century CE.

The Periplus indicates that the northern Somali territories, from Djibouti to Guardafui, were inhabited by "Berbers". It asserts that these Berbers each had independent kingdoms rather than a single kingdom. The south was inhabited by a people called the "Azanians", who were likely a separate early Cushitic group. This was during the 1st century CE.

There was also apparently some sort of connection between these Berbers and the Adulites (on who the Adulites were, see my post above). In Awdal, some old stone structures exist that are similar to those at Adulis. Actual inscriptions in Geez, the administrative language of Adulis, have also been found in Guardafui and Socotra. However, the Adulite kingdom itself was probably dominated by Cushites since all the present-day inhabitants in this area are mainly of Cushitic ancestral stock.

Additionally, thanks to the recent excavations in the northern Somali territories, we also now know that the ancient Land of Punt was centered in the Horn, and in the Somali areas in particular.

My Hawiye brothers, how do you see this if you take seat of the president as a monopoly, and give other clans to deliver the political power? You will have your cambuulo and moofo and much more fun than arguable politics.

Oromo owns Addis Ababa and they are allowed to have the president as a monopoly. This has made Ethiopia a developed country that in no time offers it all.

I think it's better to have this than equal president and prime minister power sharing.
