But would it surprise you if Al-Shabaab had similar elements? people using religion as an excuse to gain power and territory shocker!!

While Al-Shabaab has done really evil actions, I do not think they, as whole, is totally about power. Some of them are genuinely all about repelling the foreign powers.

I wish there would be a group with a healthy dose of nationalism and Islam to stand against the influence of foreign powers.
