Do people in Somalia age faster than Western Somalis?

I recently connected with a friend from Somalia who I haven't seen in 10 years and has he aged!

Anyone else noticed this? Is it the sun damage they are experiencing?

No way. Somalis in the west age way more faster than skinnies back home. You can see it when you get there. Average 15- year old somali boy in the west will look like a 20-year old guy in Somalia. Then there is bidaar problem with somali men in the west that guys in Somalia don't suffer as much. There's a reason why adult somali people don't have problem passing as underages when claiming asylum in western countries.

Somalis in the west are more stressed out by work and life in the west. We also more likely to have a more unhealthy diet and tend to stay indoors much longer meaning we get less sunlight usually resulting in vitamin D deficiency. These (and more) factors contributes to ageing.

Western Somalis might be more overweight and have more stress, but I think they have better skin than those who always been in Somalia.
There are now 30 year olds born/raised Western Somalis, they look younger than their counterparts in Somalia.
