Somali Culture about Fathers favoring boys

Postby Sumubaridi » Sat Sep 26, 2015 7:33 am

Is it only my dad or Somali fathers prefer to ask for help from their sons than their daughters. My father would not ask for anything from my sisters. He asks them " wiilkeygii ii waca". I do not get it. Why would you favor one child more than the other. I want to be paying for mom's stuff while my sisters help dad but he is spoiling it for me.

Mothers tend to favor boys while fathers favor girls.

Fathers tend to be very harsh on there sons and spoil there girls, while mothers tend big up there sons.

I am closer to my father than I am to my mother. I can get away with murder when it comes to my father but my mum doesn't let things slide, she treats me more like an adult than my father does.

Guys make more money throughout their life than women. That's why all these third world cultures hope to get sons only.
