She got there because the Australian government sent her there and many thousands of asylum seekers who came by boat from Indonesia to Australia and told them they will never be resettled in Australia. The Australians are telling the Euroeans how they succeeded in stopping asylum seekers boats by sending these people to Nauru and on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea and telling these asylum seekers to apply asylum in these countries. Who in their right mind would want to live in Nauru or in Papua New Guniea and spend money to reach and live there forever?

She and along few other Somali women and men are stuck in these countries. They were tahriibs by boat from Indonesia to Australia. Last I heard, the ladies were granted residency in Nauru. The Australian government pays their housing and living expenses.Their best option is to take the Australian offer for repatriation home.

This might have been a plea to have their voices heard. She could not talk on the phone while recording a video if she did not have 2 phones. If Australia is offering to take them back, she needs to go back home. Maxaa ladhahaa Nauru. Nakuru would have been better.

This comment is really unnecessary.

For all you know she could have travelled with male relatives. The woman was going to work when she got raped.

Even if she travelled by herself, it's not like she was waltzing around the world for the sake of it but merely to seek a better life, because you know the menfolk in her country fucked it up for everyone.

Life in Nauru is terrible, both inside the detention centres and outside. Just gross violations of human rights. Ilaahay ha u gargaaro. Feel really powerless when you see this.

^^^I 'm sorry but that argument doesn't fly with me. There are many peaceful places in Somalia which is a thousands times better than the shitholes these women flee to. Also why do our women tahriib by themsslves? You don't see arab or afghan women by themselves.
