I'm pretty sure Arabs didn't force you to accept their culture, you willingly took it up. Last time I checked, there weren't hundreds of Arab troops forcing Somalis to dress in khamis and cumamads and females to dress like Ring-wraiths from the Lord of the Rings.

Nope, Somali culture is still strong, this arabization you speak probably refers to to women's clothing.

I didn't even watch the video.

But I know some twisted Somali folks will tell you that jilbaabka dhaqankeena maaha markau Qur'anka ka sheekeyo hijaabka.

Somalis stopped wearing that clothes because it violates their religion. Last time I checked, Islam is not Arab culture.

Anyway, we can still wear that clothes with some modifications.

XamarLady sister yes i agree with you especially the dressing part. Idk about Somalia but in SL n Djibouti there is no clothing laws. It's the so called Wadaado that have been in mid.east esp Saudi A. for some years to study or something. When they return they bring with them the wahabi style of how people should dress. But ofcourse you have to dress the way locals do to show respect.
