2 killed, 1 seriously injured in Seward neighborhood shooting

Two people were killed and one was seriously wounded after a shooting near E. Franklin Avenue in the Seward neighborhood in south Minneapolis Sunday night, police spokesman John Elder said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 7:45 p.m. near the Franklin Housing Cooperative apartments at E. Franklin and 23rd Avenue S.

When police arrived they found a passenger car with three people inside. Two were dead; a third person with serious but noncritical injuries was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, Elder said.

“The suspects fled on foot,” Elder said. Investigators were canvassing the scene, he said.

Another night of Somali on Somali violence in south Minneapolis. The only survivor is in a critical condition at HCMC. This shooting happened down the street from where a Somali on Somali triple homicide happened a few years ago at a Somali dukaan.

Meanwhile the Somali feminists behind Black Lives Matter are spending another night in north Minneapolis camped outside the police precinct, protesting for a madow woman abuser.

This is a 95% Somali xaafad right on Franklin Ave, a stone's throw from the famous fadhi ku dirir Starbucks acrossthe bridge. Subhanallah I was supposed to be there last night at that time to visit someone but Allah saved me from this.

Are they somalis and what usually underlies these kinds of murders?tribalism? drugs?

I was in that town not long ago and I would say it looked as peaceful as Mecca; but appearances do decieve.

I noticed that Somalis in MN were relatively poor compared to those in in MVDC areas (housing, restaurants and intellectual poverty are my markers).

They shooter(s) have not been identified yet but the victims are all Somalis. 99% of the time it's Somalis shooting Somalis in the south. Most murders go unsolved because no one snitches.

This might turn into a triple homicide because the guy in the hospital is barely holding on.

You are right this area of Minneapolis is very poor, these are low income high rises. Most people are qaxootis, elderly, single mothers or just broke.

I don't know why anybody will hide murderers. This is the intellectual poverty I am talking about. I did not like MN. It did not live up to my expectations. I visited several restaurants and met many somalis. My conclusion is that it is where the somali trash are.

Murderapolis is full of qaxootis, gangsters, terrorists and lowlifes. You can't compare it to DMV area.

It used to be a big welfare state. But mainly a lot of Lutheran churches worked to bring lots of Somalis through refugee resettlement agencies. The state gave these qaxootis everything and still does. Somalis want to live with Somalis so a community formed with other qaxootis dreaming to come to the promised land of 10,000 lakes.

Now things like Section 8 vouchers are impossible to find in the twin cities so qaxootis are being settled in tiny tuulos hours away like Waseca and St. Peters. It's a tough depressing life full of cold, darkness 18 hours a day, no jobs, drugs, fundamentalism and murder.

First of the victims at this triple shooting identified:

Community leaders have identified one of two people killed in a triple shooting in the Seward neighborhood late Sunday as Abdulahi Awuni.

Awuni, a local spoken word artist who worked at a neighborhood recreation center, was found shot in a car, along with two other men, parked near the Franklin Housing Cooperative apartments at E. Franklin and 23rd Avenue S., the leaders said.

Officers came across the car after responding to a shots fired call about 7:45 p.m. A second man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the third victim was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman said Sunday that several suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot.

No arrests have been announced.

AUN, he seems like a young guy on his FB and MySpace page. Did they release the name of the other victim?
