Why don't they train Africans and work with them???? I don't trust these Chinese. They say- America wants to control the world, but they are doing the control. If they are building the bridges and roads and major building projects for Africans, they can design it in away they can sabotage it when they want to . If it breaks--the Africans wont know where to start building it???? But u have to agree--something is better than nothing. While Americans wants to feed Africans, in a way making them--useless and crippled for life--at lease the Chinese are making the Africans wake up from poverty. Who knows--maybe the Africans will be the winner in the end. They will learn from these two giants: China and America---and come out looking smarter and more enlightened.

That is actually a great point. Brilliant point actually. Africa will be the new China in terms in outsourcing products. The funny thing is--Africa will be a perpetual cheap labor for centuries to come. I cannot for see Africans lifting themselves up like the Chinese did. So both American China will be the winners in this whole capitalism game. Of course Africans will win too--because finally there will be jobs for them. Its a win win situation I guess! But Africa, the mother nature will lose. The air will be polluted like it is now in China. The virginity and the green land of Africa will be threatened. If Africa is contaminated with modern invasion, where will mankind run to for nature? The end of the world maybe ?

Less than half of the profit of most commercial buildings built by China will go to China. So Africans will still benefit.

In about 20-30 yrs Africa would be so indebted to China so much, that it will literally own the continent.

The difference betwen China and the US is after hiring it's own people, there is something to see. The US hires it's own people all of whom are "consultants" and there' s nothing to show.

China wants to increase trade, get better access to raw materials and markets and it wants it now.
They can train africans, let Western or African companies bid for those projects and wait years, while spending double or triple the price,
or they can just go and do the damn thing right now.
They are in a hurry and dont have time for nonesense.

Who benefits?

China and Africans, who loses out? the West.
How?

The west will usually lend you the money for these projects on profitable interest rates for them, the projects will go to connected western companies who will jack up the price to get more profits.
The projects then runs longer than expected and the poor africans will be paying the interest on the loans for the project before its completed in the first place.

China is not interest in rent seeking from lending you money, it wants your resources, and is willing to pay for it.
To get this trade up and running, they will be giving you very low interest rate loans, or even grants as aid, they will bring in their own companies
who will get the project done exactly when they said it will or earlier.
Trade increases, more economic activity, more jobs...

First of all I respect the Chinese people , great history , great culture , overall great people , I am glad they are a superpower .
Now with that said , they are also a big polluter after the west who've been doing it for longer
Strictly speaking from an African perspective , climate change is creating a lot of problems in our mother continent .

As you can see they are nomadic people with cows . Their journey takes from since immemorial times from present day Niger to the lake Chad , traditional route . Because of climate change and mismanagement the lake is shrinking


All that create conflicts between the farmers and the nomads , because on their route have risen farms . Naturally their cows need feeding and the farmers charge the nomads ridiculous amount of money as penalty when their cattle pass by . It has the potential to become another Darfur as in Fur{farmers} vs Janjaweed { nomads} , may Allah forbid . Boko Haram is present in the area
