Weah and the warlords that support him (all indigenous Liberians) are very troubled with the result, while Miss Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is from the elite who were Black American slave re-turnees, and is/was always supported by the U.S Government (devotees to he U.S). They ran Liberian politics and in general every other important field for the last 150 years. The indigenous people felt neglected, and war erupted between those two forces. I hope that this is the start of their reconciliation process.

Why are they giving Weah this award at this time? Laughing

Speaking of Weah, in 30 minutes time from now, Australia plays Uruguay in the first of a two leg home and away game for next year's world cup qualification. David Vs Goliath and Australia is the underdog.

Go Australia. Auzzie, Auzzie, Auzzie, Oi, Oi, Oi. Laughing

Goobdoon

Just watched the game with my little brother and his friends, and the kids are all sad. Just to cheer them up, I reminded them that 4 years ago, Australia beat Uruguay in the first leg 1-0 in Sydney, followed by Uruguay's 3-0 win in Montoviedo, Uruguay. Although an under dog, I think Australia can recover the second leg which is on next Wednesday (on the Olympic Staduim in Sydney, 100,000 seating sold out). Ishallaha I will be in that crowd watching the socceroos qualify for the world cup.

So let us never forget that history and precedents like Greece winning the Eur Champs, or Cameron beating world champions Argentine, or Senegal beating Champions France in Japan 2002. Indeed football is a strange game.

This game the stastics favoured Australia. And in a hostile environment, they played very well.

Possession

Australia 56%

Uruguay 44%

It is not over till the fat lady sings.
