A good half of our population doesn't understand that , it's always good to take the opportunity to remind them. Ignorance and self loathing a bad combo my brother !

good Job,Somalia could go further and strike a strategic Partnership with USA and BEFRIEND uncle Sam,Make Policies that Favour Uncle sam And Its allies Like Turkey,EU etc.
With the Emerging CHINA/RUSSIA on the Red sea,USA and Somalia can Forum Permanent Relation that will last long Time,it is a win win situation for Both of Them.AMERICA all the way.

There is something called national interest and our interest its not the same as Saudi or Iran for that matter and thats why Somalia should seek a neutral poisition.
There is no such thing as permanent allies or friends in politics.

Strategic alliance that brings nothing to us besides couple aid money that goes in corrupt pockets, thats basically what it is. There is no reason, strategy or longplan thinking at play here that benefit our interests.

Instead of meddling in others businesses we should focus of getting out of our position.

That's what you do not understand . Getting into/being a member of a club has certain obligations .The only embassy who's sent a representation to Somalia that has not moved from Mogdisho to the capital of a nearby country { Ethiopia, Kenya or Djibouti} is the Arab League's . In the darkest hour of Somalia , when looting was a common thing , they didn't mover their embassy to Djibouti for example , another member country . Why? Because of its obligations . This is a business where you neither have the competence nor the rank to conduct ,sorry corruption is also of the mind not only the pocket , you just weren't made for it

As usual the point goes beyond you. I'm saying this membership of this club is not neccessary because of it offers nothing but peanuts. And stop being dramatic about a embassy that was manned mainly by somalis, in our darkest hour we all saw what your arab friends did to somali refuguees and still are doing.

Corruption is indeed of mind aswell and thats why you cant understand a simple thing that nations have different interests. For example Turkey today is much more important player in Somalia than lets say KSA, and if it comes down to a choice between Turkey and KSA, its easy decision because its our interest to align us with Turkey. On the same note its not our interest to push away Iran for Saudi peanuts. Its better to be neutral in a conflict that dont concern us at all.

This is today
On Thursday Somalia became the latest country to cut ties with Tehran, following Sudan, Djibouti and Bahrain. The United Arab Emirates has downgraded relations and Qatar and Kuwait have recalled their ambassador from Iran.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/j ... y-in-yemen
So let's take a look at these countries , first Bahrain , we all know the Saudi miliatry intervention in that country and it's rule in crushing the uprising, basically Bahrain is unofficial Saudi province now .
Sudan ,a dictator wanted by the International Criminal court for genocide and war crimes against his own people who is desperate for some Saudi bariis 'roz' as Sisi will say :)
and lastly, Somalia and Djibouti, NO COMMENT  :deadrose:

Meanwhile, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar they just recalled their ambassadors to appease the saudis a little , all Iranian embassies in these countries are still open so are theirs in Iran , it's business as usual

Some people think with their belly , others with their mind . Turkey is not a member of the Arab league , therefore not obligated to anything beyond the role it wants to play in the sunni world . I am sorry to repeat this but , Turkey is not in the picture here . It is between the invasive policies of Persian Iran and the containment diplomacy of KSA .
Have a good day !

Waxay rabaan bay iska dhaadhicinayaan dadkani
Garaad Las Qorey , my warsangeli friend , I told you a long time ago , you do not comprehend these things . You've just lost the argument in this thread you've initiated
You zomalis in this thread , in contrast with your parents , have just acquired a new language , english that is . Your ability to understand how the world at large functions though is as archaic as your goat herding forefathers  " what do we eat ? "

So why didn't they close the embassies like the Saudis ? :)
it's just a symbolic gesture my friend, these countries can not afford cutting ties with Iran there's too much at stake for them

Turkey was just a example . It has nothing to do with this Iran vs Saudi arabia, just as we have nothing to do with it either. We should mind our business, and for the obligation to the arab league? Well when it comes down to choose between our interests and the obligation to the arab league, well the decision is easy. We should hand in documents to exit the arab league. We should maintain and have good relationship with all states that can benefit us not named Israel
