I noticed how the somali youth culture is different from place to place and also the fact that culture in the 90s early 2000s is different from 2010 onwards.

I met this 21 yr old guy the other day, he looked about 25 and you'd think he was 27-28 because of his mentality.

Wallahi Mash'Allah I am yet to meet another 21 yr old who has as much aqli as him.

He told me he grew up without his father being around and so he took on his Abo's role from the age of 12, he went on to say he looked after his 5 other younger siblings whilst their mother went to earn a living and how he knows everything. From ironing, to cooking, to cleaning, to helping his siblings do their homework.

He's finished University and volunteers at his local Somali community centre 4 days a week. I was like but you don't even get paid, and he goes "Right now I don't care about money, I want intan dadkayga caawiyo and wipe out tribalism"

Aniga Isla yaabay for asking him such a question cause his reply took me back MashAllah.

And I also loved how hard he was trying to speak in Somali (his Somali was kinda bad but wuu isku dayayay and I think that's wicked)

He's such a credit to his Mother.

Hadu aha a few yrs older.. :myman:
