Majority of Somalis in the U.S are democrats. Of course there are some who vote Republican, but not many.

i guess voting is not compulsory in USA ?
if we don't vote in Australia we pay $20 penalty, and if you don't vote again the penalty increases to $50

In Australia, if you are registered with the Electoral Commission and didn't vote, they will send you a notice asking the voter if they have a valid reason from abstaining to vote. If the commission accepts your excuse, you will be exempted from fines. If they didn't accept, a fine of $76.00 will be issued against you. You are right, it used to be a $20.00 fine, but from July 2015, it has been increased to $76.00.
How much is the fine?
For elections that take place from 1 July 2015, the fine for not voting is $76.00 (half a penalty unit).
