Seems you don't know what you are talking about. Are you telling me that all Hadhramis, Southern Iranians and Balochia have been granted UAE citizenship under Bedouins clans names? Why they still carry their real last name though?
Im not sure if you know what being naturalized means. It means granting citizenship to a foreigner and its almost impossible to get now. Plenty of people, of all sorts of nationality, got UAE citizenship in 70s and early 80s through getting bedouin families to include them within their tribe. Seems like you are just disagreeing for the sake of it.
On the Barre story, I'm hardly emotionally invested in arguing whether its true or false. I just related an anecdote that most people who lived in the UAE have heard back then.
Was born and raised in the country so no need to tout your visitor credentials for your expertise. The Somali population in AD has undoubtedly shrunk compared to its old numbers. Even Mussafah rents are unsustainable for average working Somali family and they make up of the area has changed a lot compared to what it used to be. Same with Baniyas. Theres no real stats on this anyway so you cant argue confidently about these numbers in any specific direction.

You must have not been there enough to meet locals. I too felt the same my first two visits, until i met some cool friends that showed me the tricks and all the fun places to go.The UAE is so boring nothing to do the shopping malls gets boring after few days, there is no countryside or quite place. Even the surburbs you can still see the skylines. Just high rising building inside a burning desert. Expat life even as a westerne not what it used to be. The salary and costs do not match anymore. Too many people on too small areas.

The way to beat high rent in Dubai is just to move to Al-Sharjah , which is about 10 miles from the Dubai and then come to Dubai for Business/Work. The apartments in Sharjah is dirt cheap compared to Dubai. I am in the process of relocating from the States and will update you once I permanently move here
Loll yeah I know. I was in the UAE a few weeks ago. Eating out was like here in the States... after a month in India it felt like it was a fortune.Dude It's not that expensive I swear. For example, you can eat at yemeni or somali restaurants for about 35 AED which around $10 and it's the same in Nairobi ( 9K KES ) . Like i said the houses in Dubai are expensive, but in Sharqah it's around 700 for two bedrooms which is just like how it's in Westlands in Nairobi.
Lol 20K AED is like 5500$ a month right? Al-hamdullahi i make more than that
