You didn't expect what exactly walaal?

It is harder to wear hijab in the west than say the east or back home. For a number of reasons that Inaayah articulated. It is solely for Allah's sake that one keeps it on in an environment that is the antipathy of hijab.

I am glad you take pride in your identity, in many ways as do I. Some of these issues I have highlighted no longer affect me but they did in my younger years. A platform like this, that shames women for wearing hijab is potentially read by many thousands of young Muslim women. The reason, I wrote in an inclusive manner is because I am able empathise with those still going through their own issues with hijab.
Ah, I see. I also had problems in my early teens. I just wasn't expecting you to be conscious about what some gaal thinks today. It's good you are a proud muslima today Ma Sha Allah. My point was simply that we're not trying to satisfy these people. While I do admit that we face discrimination in the west due to our culture and religion, can you even imagine what the prophet Muhammad (swt) and his companions went through? We have it pretty easy tbh. This dunya is nothing but a test, all things will come to an end. It's just a matter of time.

There was 1 girl from my ends who got bottled after the Paris attacks. Would that have happened somewhere like Somalia?
Man, that's pretty sad. I also got chased by 6 typical Aussie bogans who wanted to stomp the life out of me for just wearing a khamis at 12am at McDonald's. It can go both ways Inaayah.

Phinks, you're right, whatever we face here isn't comparable to the trials of the early Muslims.

Chased by 6 bogans? SubhanAllah, sounds like a terrifying ordeal. I thought that stuff didn't happen in the west though.

I like seeing brothers in khamiis/ beards. I see it as a mark of solidarity.

Would you like it if someone called your sis a hoe? Don't judge. What they do is between them and Allah (swt). Ever heard 'you know my name but not my story.' I did take off my headscarf recently because I didn't wanna do certain things while wearing a headscarf but that was a personal choice. Always respect women. A woman gave birth to you and only a woman can give you children.
