What year, era, decade or century did world domination and civilization moved from the Islamic world to the West? The world capital was Abbsid Baghdad in the eleventh century then Fatimid and Mamluk Cairo in the forteenth century, that is when the world capital crossed the Mediterranean to Genoa and passed to Amsterdam and London in the Nineteenth century until it ended in New York in the Twentieth century.
We know that they were excelling and leading the world in every field from science to literature, what shifted this power from the East to the West? Was it caused by internal rifts or outside influence? We all know that up until the seventeenth century, they were toe to toe with their Western counterparts if not better in many aspects.
