Ramadan 2016

Postby lifeisbloodyhard » Mon May 02, 2016 6:07 am

Hi all, :stylin:

So Ramadan is fast approaching. It is going to start on Monday, the 6th of June roughly so that means it is around a month away. I am excused from fasting but I will fast isA if doc says I can.

Last Ramadan was my first Ramadan not fasting. I didn't fast cos of health problems. It was very weird walahi. Everyone around me would be starving and i'd be eating like normal. It didn't really feel like Ramadan to me. I did fast for like a third of it but I think I stopped when this Muslim doctor was like I shouldn't be fasting and that I was excused.

Any non-fasters here? E.g. Diabetics etc?

How does everyone feel about Ramadan? Is it too early to make this like an official thread?

I know you've said several times you have a personality disorder but you can tell the difference from right and wrong can you not?

You're not qof Ilaahey miyirkiisa ka qaaday where you walk the streets stark naked (Ilaahey na kama dhigo) That's the kind of people o la idhi the pen has been lifted from them.

Me too. Btw it'a not about the medication. I am gonna come off them anyway. I have to think it through. It all depends on what the doctor says. If he/she says it's not advisable, I won't. Last time, I tried to fast even though I was ill. I fasted on the days I wasn't so ill. Laakin it didn't make sense considering the day before I was really sick and gettng picked up by the police cos i was 'being mentally disordered in a public place' and getting taken to regular/psych. hospital for assessments etc. Mental health is a lot more difficult than physical health when it comes to knowing whether you are excused from fasting or not.

Anywho, one day I went to A and E. I think it was for a physical health problem and doc was like you shouldn't be fasting cos of your mental health. At the end of the day, if a doctor says you shouldn't fast, as far as I am aware, islamically, you should listen to the doc.

With my illness, things are constantly changing. One day I can be really ill e.g. getting picked up by popo as I said before and the next day I am great.

I hope that makes sense. :stylin:

Sometimes mental illnesses sound 'soft' but they aren't.

Hence why I made this thread. :stylin: :stylin:

For some reason, the older I get, the more faster time goes. I don't know if I am the only one. :?
