I think it is plausible.
But let me pour some fuel on the flames.

Have you considered makadur to be makidoor of the gurgura dir. They lived in the same area with their mandaluq brothers

Maybe they were adopted by the Gurgura after the war since many clans dispersed and some had to regroup and Gorgorah were mentioned separately in the Conquest.
:whoa:

The Gurgura have always moved as one clan with one Ugaas, it is logic defying for Habar Makadur to be a subclan of Gurgura 500 or so years ago when the Gurgura themselves were less in number. Moreover, why would they be listed separately from Gurgura? Habar Maqdi ain't the Makidoor of Gurgura guys.

Horta, Imam ahmed al gazali was making a hijad to spread islam and stop the christian xabash from invading musilms lands , his memory should be remembered as such, and his army was an army of islam not under qabiil banner.people who like to be connected to him then they should follow his legacy not his abtiris.

Image

that said,in the arabic original script one of the somali clans mentioned there was refered as هبر مقدى with "A" at the end not R as rooble mentioned also on the footnotes of the translated edition on 106 footnote it clearly says PROBABLY like the author is guessing.
moreover, in one of the rooble's referenced books screenshots, it says that ''Gadabursi are the traditional enemies of their neighbors, the essa, but ae not warlike''....with all respect to the beesha but how can a non warlike group, according to the author, produce one of the finest fighters and and army leaders in the history of islam in africa,

anyhow, the imam should be remembered an a muslim leader who united all muslims from different ethnicities in the horn of african under one islamic state.

my 2 cents.

Exactly

Ramzy why wasn't their a Laam added.

The raa'. ر could easily be confused for a ي (yāʾ) /ī/

Plus less warlike, because they'd like to reason first. This is why they refused to pay the alms tax, but afterwards were ready to fight on the war. For the Geri applied the same refusing to join first.

This is the true nature of the Habr Maqdr Gadabursi always wanting to defend Somalis or a Nation.

This history of fighting for a Muslim and Somali goal is also proof of it.

Don't be confused they couldn't have survived or live near the Issa if they weren't able to loose blood.

The travels through the Gadabursi also describes them and Issa to have the best spears out of the all the Somalis.

They also boasted loudly about their kills of other clans with an ostrich feather tied to the head/hair to symbolize the kill and instant victory.

True exactly, that's what I said.

It's obviously Gadabursi , since the Gorgorah were mentioned as a separate clan.

Rooble, I am not an expert in afsomali and my thought might be wrong but the ''L'' in magadle is sort of an adjective noun, like in ur name ROOBLE, the noun is ROOB ,but if u want to give this feature to a person u add "Le'' .

also, i ofter read and listen the name habar magadle said in different ways like habar magado ...so that shows the last part of the name differs according to the grammar of the sentence.

You are right in stating that Habar Maqdi/Maqda does not have an R at the end in the Arabic manuscript. However, unlike the words that follow such as أعلى and and وادي, it cannot be assumed that the author meant Habar Maqda or Maqdi because Allah knows how the name of clan in question was pronounced.

Furthermore, the Samaron became less warlike only after becoming agro-pastoral. Even among them, they are differences between subclans. Those that retained a nomadic lifestyle continue to be warlike.

True the agro pastoralist lifestyle witch was instructed by Ras Mekonnen or they would lose their land to the otherclans if they denied to cultivate. This is why Geri started cultivating too and other clans on the Ethiopian borders.

Mahad "Ase have still retained their nomadic lifestyle.

Cuz, I can only give an opinion based on the evidence in front of me . Reading the Arabic text, I can say with certainty that it is Habar Maqdi/Habar Maqda and not Habar Magadle or Habar Makadur. All bets are off as to who they are.

 All good. The researchers have noted Habr Makadur.

Obviously since Habr Makadur lives in the Harar Valley to Amud to Zeila and the clan has accounts of the war and can pinpoint Ahmed Gurays sub-clan with ease.

Yeah and Geri today is a "peaceful" clan too, as are the Barsuuq which are obviously mentioned. Don't derail the thread.

Thank you Agent, definitely worth reading  :D

The last piece to the puzzle.

Pay attention to Husain Musa Bin 'Abd Allah Makida, a stripe below the k meaning a strong K.

He is of the tribe of Ahmed Girri. So he is of the Habar Maqdi(as written in the book), but a Makida alone has been written now.

This time a K has been added instead of a Q , strengthening the claim to Makadur.

This time even a i has been added to the word which nullifies the other claims to it and strengthens the Makidoor/Makidor/Makadur claim. You can't say Magida or Magidle, but Makidor has always been used.

A Isaaq of the Habar Magaadle can't say I'm AbdAllah of Magaadle , because Magaadle in itself is a whole different clan.

But just like the (Habr) Garhajis the (Habr) Makidor practice the same culture of occasionally removing the Habar pre-fix.

Husain Musa Bin 'Abd Allah Makidor.

We already discussed that the ya written in Arabic could've actually been an raa.

I can even connect Husain Musa Bin AbdAllah to the abtirsi.
