Sudan going nuclear, Kenya too. good or bad for east AFrica?

Postby Abdelrahim » Wed May 25, 2016 5:28 am

Both countries are looking towards nuclear energy for peaceful purposes to produce electricity in the next decade of 2020-2030. Nuclear is more expensive then hydro however both countries don't have the highlands like ethiopia to build big dams for cheap to produce lots of energy.

In the near future this region of the world would be nuclear as even Uganda has some small plans on nuclear energy, but with the like of alshabab and lra around, is this a welcome development? even though Sudan is backed by China and kenya too

Apes?lol
Free your mind, your shackles are bound too tight.
arabs were colonized just like your black ass, they were eating lizards and still are.
do you think arabs are some Godlike people,
the average arab probably thinks your monkey too, but not just any monkey, a monkey with an Arabic name.

They should go solar instead of nuclear they don't have that kind of money and expertise to go nuclear unless china assists and cover expenses which i highly doubt.

It is okay in the West and Asia because their countries and their neighbors are 100% stable and they have proper protection from their own armies who are first world built + alliance with nuclear countries.

But in Sudan and the Horns, anything can happen tommorow because we are vulnerable nation. We are not united yet.

Have we not seen the effect of this in Japanese nuclear site after the quake few years ago or Chernobyl?? Luckily for Japan's strong ethic and the way the locals look after their country

so imagine if this happens in Kenya or Sudan via armed conflict or screwing up the machines? They would be lazy as fuck to clean properly and what if they are not financial capable to get rid of the chemicals before it spreads?

Beside, why do they need it now? They need to sort their own priorities first.

projects like these cost $10 billion. Sudan is backed by gulf, China and its own resources in the next decade when economy gets fully back on its feet. kenya has its own sources

China and gulf states financing part of the cost while sudanese gov should finance around 45% over next 6 years. China , Russia, belarus and Iran (if is still on the table) all promised expertise support in the past for the nuclear plants.

solar energy is not effective enough

I am supporting this nuclear programs fully however just like you brother, security is my main concern on this point. Sudan and Kenya are not looking to acquire nuclear weapons, they both looking to use nuclear energy to produce electricity which can in the future be part of a regional electric grid. Both Sudan and Kenya have armies capable enough of defending vital infrastructure, even rebels would never really target nuclear facilities to hurt the people.

Much of Sudan is desert so if they build it somewhere in the desert then it shouldn't be an issue to the people. Japan is small and packed. getting rid of chemicals shouldn't be a huge problem am sure both are financially capable of financing the emergency crisis and would be backed by international community for safety.

believe it or not, nuclear energy is part of the priorities to provide the people with basic electricity.
